KENYA SHIMBA HILLS HOTELS, CAMPS & LODGES
Shimba Hills Lodge

At the Kenyan Coast in Kwale, is a wooden tree lodge overlooking a watering hole in the middle of a tropical rainforest. This is Shimba, a spectacular award-winning tree lodge situated in the 192 square kilometres Shimba National Reserve the only remaining habitat of the sable antelope in East Africa. After the heat and humidity of the sea level, Shimba is cool and refreshing. It is a restful jungle of greens after the glare of sand and sea. These rare animals are well worth seeing, as are the elephants, colobus monkeys, giraffe, buffalo and, if you're lucky, the leopard. All rooms have balcony vantage points overlooking the waterhole. They are well designed and cheerful with big windows and twin beds.
