Lake Baringo Club
Located on the shores of Lake Baringo, about 3hrs drive from Nairobi, the four-star Lake Baringo club is a Mecca for birdwatchers with over 400 recorded species. Samatian Island Lodge
Set on a private island with breath-taking views across the bronze waters of the Great Rift Valley’s Lake Baringo, Samatian offers the ultimate in relaxation. The beauty of Baringo and her surroundings is legendary – spectacular sunsets, a dazzling array of colourful bird life, Njemps fishermen continuing a trade little changed for over 200 years, and the imposing Laikipia Escarpment creating a magnificent backdrop to the lake and her inhabitants. Guests can enjoy boat rides to explore the lake and her inhabitants – hippo, crocodile and over 450 species of birds; visit the hot springs with their steaming pools; enjoy walks along the lakeside to view the prolific bird life. The dining/sitting area has a panoramic view of the lake and the rugged Northern Frontier district of Kenya, as well as overlooking the large swimming pool. The island has solar power from which even the pool pump is run!
Samatian can accommodate 10 guests in four simple, airy, open-plan thatched chalets all with superb views of the lake.

Island Camp
